In the international context, the issue of whether to sue, or whether to resist suit in the defense of a client, in a U.S. court is a complex one. The strategic issues are treated in various chapters in this guide. Here, we treat the basic question of how to secure jurisdiction in a U.S. court if the decision to do so is made.
